During my time in the UK last year, I missed being outdoors in nature and camping. As we had no car and our camping gear was back in Australia, we just never got around to it (aside from the glamping trip to Wales). Blackpool Illuminations

Anyone who grew up in the north of England will be familiar with Blackpool — a seaside resort town on the Lancashire coast. This northern tourist hot spot is known for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, its landmark the Blackpool Tower and the Blackpool Illuminations — an annual light show along the promenade. Continue reading


Chester is a city close to my heart as it was where I chose to go to university all those years ago if I didn’t move to Australia. I got a place on the journalism course at Chester University so I often think what my life would have been like if I’d stayed — perhaps I would have ended up living there long-term?
