I have wanted to visit Jervis Bay ever since my internship days at Australian Traveller Magazine in 2013, as I edited a piece that said it has the whitest sand in the world, which sounds pretty good to me!
Last summer, I was lucky enough to visit Trinity Beach, Cairns for a few days, and as I wrote here, it was a wonderful stretch of sunny days, balmy nights and snorkelling on The Great Barrier Reef.
A year on, Joe’s family from the UK visited again, which meant round two in Cairns – this time in pretty Palm Cove. Named after the many palm trees that line the beach, there are plenty of stunning walks and views, alongside a quiet village on the esplanade.
With gorgeous weather predicted for the weekend and an itch for the outdoors, I made a spontaneous decision to go camping. The last trip to the Hawkesbury River was over a year ago, so it was long overdue!
I have no idea why it started, but I’ve had a travel crush on the Emerald Isle for years. From the accents, movies, books, and plays, to the beautiful green scenery, history, cosy pubs and traditional music, I love it all.
